Canyon Estates covers 79 acres in South Palm Springs.  254 homes in the association include 36 Executive Homes with private back yards and pools which are located on both Toledo Avenue and Sierra Way.  68 free-standing Single Homes  and 150 (75 structural units) Duplex Homes are arranged in the middle sections of the complex separated by landscaped open green areas surrounding 15 pools and 12 spas scattered conveniently throughout.  Two Championship Tennis Courts, a Pickball Court, 9-Hole Par 3 Private Executive Golf Course, the Clubhouse with a Fitness Center, Library & Game Room and 2 ponds are in the center of the estate for the enjoyment of all residents.

Home sizes vary from approximately 1700 square foot Single and Duplex units to 3500 square foot Executive homes with the majority of the units around 2600 square feet.  Designed by well known architect Charles E. Du Bois, AIA and built by Roy Fey, a Palm Springs developer, Canyon Estates opened to the public in 1970.  Mid-century design and beautiful landscaping with each home feeling familiar yet being unique is enhanced by the vistas of the terrain in South Palm Springs.  Large overhangs shelter the summer sun from the interiors of the units.  Clerestory windows, double front doors, and patios with open glass doorways allow easy inside and outside living and entertaining.
